To be a good hockey player you need to first be a good skater. With that in mind, Dena’s philosophy emphasizes the value of consistency, repetition, the development of muscle memory and the importance of giving kids a knowledge of skating. Her mantra when it comes to skating is, “It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
Her lesson regimen works on all aspects of skating – turns, transitions, explosive crossover starts, stride, and quick acceleration. Dena specializes in working with players to increase hip flexibility for mohawk turns and spread eagles.
