Dena works with numerous hockey teams to sharpen their skating skills. She has been hired by many EHF teams as a skating specialist who comes in during their regularly scheduled practice time on a regular basis. Generally, during these sessions, she warms up the whole team, breaks them into small groups for edge work and then ends with power skating. By coming to the teams’ regularly scheduled practices, she provides a cost-efficient and effective service to help make teams more competitive and to round out hockey skill sets. She works closely with the coach to define the team’s needs and pays close attention to individual skill development. Dena also focuses on building a team atmosphere and always says, “We live as a team an die as a team.”

Dena Taylor has worked with our teams for six years. She is knowledgeable, energetic and does a great job of getting kids outside their comfort zone. Her ability to teach in small groups and adapt with different teaching styles is second to none. Dena provides open and honest feedback with her players, which fosters an environment of trust. More than anyone, Dena Taylor taught our 2001 Minuteman Flames’ players how to skate. Her enthusiasm, passion and great communications skills were embraced by our kids. She pushes the kids to reach their highest possible limits while making skating fun. Our kids will skate with her well into adulthood! She’s the best there is!
